Sustainable Aquatics releases some really awesome Naked Clowns to Alpha Corals
Sustainable Aquatics is known for their wide variety of captive-bred designer clownfish. We just learned that the company released a few pairs of their SA Naked Clowns to Alpha Corals, an online livestock retailer located in Wisconsin. According to Matthew Carberry of Sustainable Aquatics, these Naked clowns are not readily available and they don't anticipate another release for quite some time.
So what makes the SA Naked Clowns so special? To me, it's the brilliant orange coloration of the body which actually takes on a yellow hue in certain areas. Additionally, the outer edge of the fishes eyes are bright yellow, which one can appreciate only by seeing them in person.
A few of these Naked clowns feature distinctive black and white "bikini straps." The clown below has one distinctive characteristic: a partial black portion of the head almost resembling a helmet... certainly something you don't see every day.
It appears that these new designer clownfish are even more in demand than we expected; Alpha Corals nearly sold out of these clowns almost immediately after listing them! Let's hope that it isn't long before more of the Sustainable Aquatics Naked Clowns are released for sale ... I know I'd love a pair!
