Meet Fennerogalathea chani, a new species of squat lobster from Papua New Guinea. With its red, white, and blue pigmentation, it is one of the most dazzling crustaceans we have seen.

Fennerogalathea chani n. sp.

Fennerogalathea chani is described in ZooTaxa along with two other squat lobsters, Fennerogalathea cultrata n. sp. from New Caledonia and Vanuatu and Fennerogalathea ensifera n. sp. from Fiji.  Until the discovery of these three new species, the relatively young genus Fennerogalathea (1988) had only contained two species.
