Hemigrammus aguaruna

H.aguaruna is the 59th and newest species of Hemigrammus, a genus filled with a lot of colorful and popular aquarium tetras. Like most Hemigrammus, H.aguaruna is a small species that inhabits tannin-rich, acidic waters of the Amazon river, forming schools with conspecifics and congenors.

The new tetra is described in the latest issue of Aqua, International Journal of Ichthyology.
