Century-old aquarium at Green Aqua

By Leonard Ho - Posted Aug 31, 2016 09:00 AM
This is the 106-year-old, wrought-iron aquarium, which had belonged to the great-grandfather of one of Green Aqua founders. It has been brought back to spectacular life by András Czesznak and Viktória Cseh.

Green Aqua is an aquascaping blog turned service team and retailer, founded in 2009 by three Hungarians: Attila Néder, Balázs Farkas and Viktor Lantos.  This vintage aquarium was first installed in 1910 by the great-grandfather of Attilla, István Néder.  Now, over 100 years later, modern aquarists have imbued it with new life.  This is a beautiful reminder of our hobby's long, rich history, as well as aquarists who continue to bridge the past, present, and future.

More details about this aquascape can be read at:

I'm a passionate aquarist of over 30 years, a coral reef lover, and the blog editor for Advanced Aquarist. While aquarium gadgets interest me, it's really livestock (especially fish), artistry of aquariums, and "method behind the madness" processes that captivate my attention.
