Destination Reefs: Sulawesi (Week 2)

By Leonard Ho - Posted Mar 11, 2012 08:00 AM
As we mentioned in last week's Destination Reefs, Sulawesi (Indonesia) teems with so much life that we had to stay an additional week. Now we'll get up close and personal with hundreds of animals — from the beautiful to the bizarre — that inhabit Sulawesi's reef.
Destination Reefs: Sulawesi (Week 2)

The odd couple

Last week, we introduced you to Sulawesi's coral gardens, muddy wonderland, and some of the most incredible macro reef footage.  We continue our trip with an award-winning short documentary "Tiny Wonders of North Sulawesi" followed by three more top-notch videos.

Octopus, cuttelfish, frogfish, cardinalfish, pufferfish, leaffish, pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, tube anemones, echinoderms, crabs and shrimps of all types —  the biodiversity in Sulawesi is mind-boggling!  We challenge you to identify all the creatures in just one of these videos.

The Destination Reefs video series showcases the diversity of coral reefs around the world.  Through these high quality videos, Advanced Aquarist hopes we can all gain a greater appreciation of reef life beyond our glass boxes.
