Reef Aquascaping Inspiration

By Leonard Ho - Posted Aug 15, 2013 09:00 AM
I'm in the process of setting up a new reef tank and went searching for aquascaping ideas, stumbling across the youtube channel by 'otpp225' from Taiwan. To be honest, I don't know anything about him. I don't know if these videos are of his aquariums, are his designs, or whether he's a hobbyist or a professional. What I do know is that these reef aquascapes are beautiful, unique, and inspiring.

Simple but balanced, colorful aquascape

It's fascinating to view aquariums from around the world because each region imparts its own personality on how tanks are aquascaped.  To avoid "generic tank syndrome" when aquascaping your next tank (freshwater or reef), make sure to look at aquariums from Asia, Europe, and the Americas to expand your inspiration pool.

Take these reef aquascapes for example.  They're beautiful, unique, and have a distinct Asian flair.
