New York Aquarium Unveils Conservation Hall and Glover’s Reef

The Wildlife Conservation Society’s New York Aquarium (Coney Island, NY) is currently undergoing a major 10 year, $150+ million renovation. Yesterday, they had their ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil their new Conservation Hall and 167,000 gallon Glover's Reef exhibit.

Another rare fish video from (guess who?) Blue Harbor: Odontanthias fuscipinnis

Once upon a time, the only place in the United States where one could view a live Odontanthias fuscipinnis (a deep water Hawaiian endemic) was at Waikiki Aquarium. Since then, a handful of specimens have trickled into the US; the bulk of O.fuscipinnis collected still end up in Japan (average market price north of $2,000 USD). 'Time-lasped' video of a Plate Coral feeding

I stumbled across a fascinating, sped-up video of a Plate Coral (likely Fungia sp.) feeding on pellet food. Watch as the pellets are moved by the coral from the outer tentacles to the central mouth where they are ultimately consumed.
